Best of luck to all of the newly married couples. It seems like this law is treating everyone differently, some good, some bad. I hope there are more good than bad.

It seems like all the professors have slowed down classes, instead of what we usually experience this time of year. I'm guessing it's because of everyone getting married.

For once in my life, I haven't felt like reading the dictionary. I can't believe how nerdy that actually sounds.

Not to be a pessimist or anything.

I guess I was picked to be in round two of marriage selections. It's a weird feeling.

December 12th -- 'SERENDIPITY' [12 Dec 2008|11:14pm]
Uneventful day. Went to classes. Professors talked. I listened. Notes were written. Enough said.

Have you ever looked at the word serendipity? Most people assume that it is a sort of mood, or a happy feeling, but this is most certainly not the case. In fact, the official definition of serendipity is finding something while looking for something else, generally in a positive light. I was not aware of this fact until about five minutes ago. For those of you who don't know me --- for one, why are you reading this anyway? --- I like to randomly choose words out of a dictionary, just to study and think about. Today, my random word was serendipity.

I do prefer words that subliminally reference their intended message. This one does not. I have a feeling many people have been using it incorrectly for a very long time. Though, I suppose it doesn't come up in everyday conversation, unless ... you're an English Professor, perhaps.

I'm finding that I don't know what to do with this 'journaling' thing. I've never done anything like it before, because I find that my thoughts are disjointed enough, once they are typed up for everyone to see, they make very little sense and need a large amount of editing. Perhaps I'm just being overly cautious, but one entry should not need multiple drafts.

In fact, that time could have been much better used on that paper that'll be due in two weeks. After all, if I write it now, I won't have to later. And when it comes time that other students are crunching to get in their final project, I'll be able to laugh and think them foolish for not doing what I did.

But, as nice an image that is, I don't think I'll be writing my paper today.

I'm hungry. I think I'll go out to eat, because god knows this cafeteria doesn't know the difference between life-sustaining food and the rubber you'd find on the bottom of a shoe. The question is where, and should I order in? I think I'll go out, because I can hear the noise of someone parting above me, and it's rather loud.

Perhaps, in pure serendipity, I will find something on my way.

And yes, that usage was a little forced, give me a break.
